Two decades in the trenches as an actor, writer, and stand-up comedian taught me more than any film school ever could. I’m so grateful to have worked with some of the best in the business across every genre imaginable—film, TV, comedy, drama, scripted, unscripted. From annoying host on Canadian kids’ TV to getting my throat ripped out in an American horror series, my experience in front of the camera has been a blast.

For a kid who grew up in a tiny rural outport—Burlington, Newfoundland, population 350—I’ve been able to see and do a lot, and I owe that upbringing to a lot of my success. Grew up surrounded by natural storytellers. It was baked into the culture. Story was everywhere. The way people carried themselves, the humour to get you through a hard time, the silences in grief, the weather, the laughter—all of it shaped who I am today. And when I left that tiny place to chase a dream to Toronto, cut my teeth in theatre and improv, started stand-up comedy, got my first audition, that time as a small kid in Newfoundland was my compass. From there to Los Angeles, where I spent twenty years grinding it out in Hollywood. Trial by fire. The highs, the lows, the wildfires. All incredibly valuable life experience.

And here I am. Full circle. The ground is moving, the rules are changing, and I’ve never felt more ready. Every pilot shot, every series cancelled, every writers’ room, every bombed set and standing ovation—it was all leading here. And what better way to kick off this new chapter than through LAFBOY.
